Healthy Apple Crisp

Ingredients
For the apple filling:
5–6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
1 tbsp cornstarch

For the topping:
1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 tbsp almond flour
2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.

Prepare the apple filling:
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, lemon juice, honey (or maple syrup), cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Mix well until the apples are evenly coated. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

Make the topping:
In another bowl, mix the oats, chopped walnuts, almond flour, cinnamon, and salt. Add the melted coconut oil and honey (or maple syrup). Stir until the mixture becomes crumbly.
Assemble:
Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.

Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown and crisp.

Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm for the best flavor and texture.
