Ingredients
For the Cake Batter:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
½ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups peeled and diced apples
For the Crumb Topping (Optional but Recommended):
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup cold butter, cubed
Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
In another bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in oil (or melted butter), milk, and vanilla extract.
Combine Everything
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the diced apples gently until evenly distributed.
Pour into Baking Dish
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Make the Crumb Topping
In a small bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add the cold butter and use your fingers or a fork to crumble until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle evenly over the cake batter.
Bake
Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool & Serve
Allow the cake to cool slightly before slicing.
Serve warm or at room temperature. It pairs beautifully with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
Soft, moist, perfectly sweet, and filled with juicy apple goodness — this apple cake is guaranteed to become a favorite in your home!
