Artisanal Marinated Cheese with Herbs and Chili

Recipe: Ingredients:

1 jar (500ml) glass jar with a metal lid
200g semi-cured cheese (such as Manchego or another firm cheese), cut into cubes
1 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons red chili flakes
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon black peppercorns
1 garlic clove, smashed
Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme, optional)
Salt to taste
Directions:

Begin by sterilizing your glass jar and lid by boiling them in hot water for 10 minutes and drying them thoroughly.
Cut the semi-cured cheese into uniform cubes and place them in the jar, making sure they fit tightly.
In a separate bowl, mix the olive oil with chili flakes, oregano, black peppercorns, and smashed garlic. If using, add a few sprigs of rosemary or thyme for an herbal flavor.
Pour the seasoned olive oil mixture over the cheese cubes, ensuring that the cheese is fully submerged.
Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 48 hours to allow the flavors to meld and marinate.
The marinated cheese can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
