Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches


Ingredients

For the filling:

225 g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

¼ cup powdered sugar

½ tsp vanilla extract

For the sandwiches:

8 slices white sandwich bread

Fresh strawberries, sliced

1 cup milk

2 large eggs

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed cornflakes for extra crunch)

Vegetable oil, for frying

For topping (optional):

Powdered sugar

Strawberry sauce or syrup

Whipped cream

Instructions

Make the cheesecake filling:
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

Assemble the sandwiches:
Spread a thick layer of cheesecake filling on one slice of bread. Add sliced strawberries, then top with another slice of bread. Press gently and trim crusts if desired.

Coat the sandwiches:
Set up three bowls: flour in one, beaten eggs mixed with milk in the second, and breadcrumbs in the third.
Dip each sandwich in flour, then egg mixture, then breadcrumbs, pressing to coat well.
