Who knew the air fryer could make “boiled” eggs so easy? Forget worrying about cracked shells or carefully timing a pot on the stovetop—this method delivers perfectly cooked, easy-to-peel eggs every time. Whether you love jammy yolks for ramen or fully set eggs for meal prep, the air fryer handles it all. This is one of those “why didn’t I try this sooner?” kitchen tricks that quickly becomes a go-to.
Ingredients
Eggs – Any size (large eggs are standard)
Ice cubes – For cooling
Cold water – For the ice bath
Salt, pepper, or other seasonings – Optional, for serving
Equipment
Air fryer – Preheated
Heat-safe bowl – For the ice bath
Slotted spoon or tongs – For safe handling
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 270°F (130°C).
Place the eggs directly in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook according to your preferred doneness:
9–10 minutes for soft or jammy yolks
11–12 minutes for medium-set yolks
13–15 minutes for fully hard-boiled eggs
While the eggs cook, prepare an ice bath using cold water and ice cubes.
Transfer the cooked eggs immediately into the ice bath and let them cool for 5–10 minutes.
Peel, season if desired, and enjoy.
Tip
Eggs that are 5–7 days old peel more easily than very fresh eggs.
