Cheesy Glazed Meatloaf – A Classic with a Flavor Boost!

Yields: 6-8 servings

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 60-75 minutes

Ingredients:

1.5 lbs lean ground beef (or a mix of beef and turkey for a lighter option!)

1 cup plain breadcrumbs

1/2 cup milk (any kind you prefer)

1 egg, lightly beaten

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Cheesy Glaze:

1/2 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons brown sugar (light or dark)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (for a little zing!)

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a blend of your favorite cheeses!)

Let’s Make Magic!

Preheat & Prep:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

2.Mix it Up:
In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, beaten egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf tough!

3.Shape it Nice:
Press the mixture evenly into your prepared loaf pan or shape it into a free-form loaf on the baking sheet.

4.Bake ’til Golden:
Pop it into the preheated oven for about 45 minutes.

5.Whip up the Glaze:
While the meatloaf is baking, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard in a small bowl.

6.Glaze it Up!
After 45 minutes, carefully remove the meatloaf from the oven. Spread the ketchup glaze evenly over the top.

7.Cheese, Please!
Sprinkle the shredded cheese all over the glaze.

8.Finish & Serve:
Return the meatloaf to the oven for another 15-30 minutes, or until it’s cooked through (internal temperature of 160°F or 71°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

9.Rest & Enjoy:
Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps keep it juicy!

Serve this delightful meatloaf with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, or a crisp salad. It’s pure comfort on a plate!
