Ingredients
500 g (1 lb) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 egg
½ cup breadcrumbs
2 tbsp milk
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp paprika (optional)
2 tbsp oil or butter for cooking
Optional Gravy:
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1½ cups beef broth
Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation Method

Prepare the mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix gently until just combined—do not overmix.

Shape the patties:
Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into oval or round patties, about 1.5 cm (½ inch) thick.

Cook the patties:
Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 4–5 minutes per side, until well browned and cooked through. Remove patties and set aside.

Prepare the gravy (optional):
In the same skillet, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth and simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

Serve:
Return patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and simmer for 2–3 minutes. Serve hot.
