Chocolate-Covered Brownie Bars

Description:
Chocolate-Covered Brownie Bars are rich, fudgy brownie squares topped with a smooth layer of melted chocolate. They combine the dense, chewy texture of classic brownies with a glossy chocolate coating, making them perfect for parties, dessert trays, or an indulgent treat with coffee or milk.

Ingredients
For the brownie layer:
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking powder
For the chocolate coating:
1½ cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter or heavy cream (for a smooth finish)

Preparation Method
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.

Prepare the brownie batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine dry ingredients:
In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.

Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool completely.

Prepare the chocolate topping:
Melt the chocolate chips with butter (or cream) using a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth and glossy.

Coat the brownies:
Pour the melted chocolate over the cooled brownies and spread evenly with a spatula.

Set and slice:
Refrigerate for 30–40 minutes until the chocolate is firm. Cut into bars and serve.

Tip: For extra flavor, sprinkle sea salt or chopped nuts on top of the chocolate before it sets.
