
Ingredients:
For the Meat Sauce:
1 lb ground beef
½ lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
1 medium onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 jar (24 oz) marinara or tomato pasta sauce
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Cheese Mixture:
1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 large egg
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
For Assembly:
9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
1 cup shredded mozzarella for topping
Directions:
Preheat:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the Meat Sauce:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, sausage, and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add garlic and cook 1 minute. Stir in marinara, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Make the Cheese Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine ricotta, cream cheese, sour cream, egg, Parmesan, 1 cup mozzarella, and parsley. Mix until creamy.
Assemble the Lasagna:
Spread 1 cup of meat sauce in the bottom of the dish.
Add 3 noodles.
Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles.
Add more sauce.
Repeat the layers (noodles, cheese, sauce).
Finish with remaining noodles, sauce, and top with mozzarella.
Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Rest and Serve:
Let the lasagna rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve with garlic bread and a sprinkle of fresh parsley!
