Homemade Chicken Taquitos

Crispy on the outside, creamy and flavorful on the inside—these homemade chicken taquitos are easy, flexible, and totally customizable. This is just one version, and buffalo chicken is next on the list!

Ingredients

1 rotisserie chicken, shredded

1 block cream cheese, softened

⅓ cup sour cream

½ cup salsa

1½ cups shredded cheese (any kind you like)

Tortillas of choice (flour or corn)

Oil, for frying

Instructions

In a large bowl, mix together the shredded chicken, cream cheese, sour cream, salsa, and shredded cheese until well combined.

Warm the tortillas in the microwave for 20–30 seconds so they’re soft and easy to roll.

Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of the chicken mixture into the center of each tortilla and roll tightly.

Secure each taquito with a toothpick to keep it from unrolling.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry taquitos for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden and crispy.

Remove and drain on a paper towel–lined plate.

Serving Ideas

Serve hot with sour cream, salsa, or guacamole

Try different flavors: buffalo chicken, taco-seasoned chicken, or BBQ chicken

These also bake or air-fry well for a lighter option
