There’s nothing more satisfying than a perfectly seared, juicy T-bone steak paired with golden fried eggs. This classic combination delivers rich, bold flavors with a comforting touch, making it ideal for breakfast, brunch, or even a hearty dinner. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside — this dish is simple, timeless, and always impressive.
Ingredients
1 large T-bone steak (about 1–1.2 lb / 450–550 g)
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
2 eggs
Optional: garlic cloves, fresh thyme or rosemary
Instructions
Prepare the Steak
Remove the T-bone steak from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking. Pat it dry with paper towels, then season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Sear the Steak
Heat a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over high heat. Add olive oil and butter. Once hot and shimmering, place the steak in the pan.
Sear for 3–4 minutes per side until a deep golden crust forms.
Add Flavor (Optional)
Add garlic and herbs to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steak for extra flavor.
Rest the Steak
Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5–7 minutes to keep it juicy.
Fry the Eggs
In the same pan, lower the heat slightly. Crack in the eggs and fry until the whites are set and the yolks are still runny (or cooked to your preference).
Serve
Place the steak on a plate, top or serve alongside the fried eggs, and enjoy immediately.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with toasted bread, roasted potatoes, sautéed vegetables, or a fresh green salad. Finish with a pinch of flaky sea salt or chili flakes for an extra kick.
