
Ingredients
Unsalted Butter (soft) – ½ cup (113 g)
Powdered Sugar – ½ cup
Cornstarch – ½ cup
All-Purpose Flour – 2 cups
Egg – 1 large
Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp
Baking Powder – ¼ tsp
Salt – a pinch
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Line a baking tray with parchment paper. - In a bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar until light and smooth.
- Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
(Do not over-mix.) - Shape the dough as desired:

Ring cookies
- Place cookies on tray, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes
until bottoms are lightly golden (tops stay pale). - Cool completely before serving or filling.
