Ingredients

  • 2 cups cornmeal

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Preparation Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cornmeal, sugar, and wheat flour. Mix well.
  3. Add the oil and eggs to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the milk, stirring continuously, until the batter becomes smooth and homogeneous.
  5. Add the baking powder and gently fold it into the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and level the surface.
  7. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, then unmold and serve.
