Pan-Seared Steak with Peppercorn Gravy, Buttered Veggies & Crispy Fries

Pan-Seared Steak

1 steak (ribeye, sirloin, or strip)

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt & black pepper

1 tbsp butter

1 garlic clove (optional)

Fresh chives for topping

Peppercorn Gravy

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp flour

½ cup beef broth

¼ cup cream or milk

½ tsp crushed black pepper

Salt to taste

Buttered Veggies

1 cup carrots, cut into sticks

1 cup green beans

1 tbsp butter

Salt & pepper

🍟 Crispy Fries

Frozen or fresh fries

Salt & pepper

Optional: garlic powder

𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

  1. Make the Fries

Bake or air-fry fries until golden and crispy.

Season lightly with salt & pepper.

  1. Cook the Steak

Pat steak dry and season generously with salt & pepper.

Heat olive oil in a hot skillet.

Sear steak 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare.

Add butter and optional garlic, baste for 30 seconds.

Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.

Top with fresh chives.

  1. Prepare the Gravy

Melt butter in a small pan.

Whisk in flour to form a roux.

Slowly add beef broth, stirring.

Add cream and crushed pepper.

Simmer until thick.

  1. Cook the Veggies

Steam carrots and green beans for 3–4 minutes.

Toss with butter, salt & pepper.

Sauté lightly for extra flavor if desired.

  1. Assemble the Plate

Place sliced steak with gravy, veggies, and fries on a plate. Serve warm and enjoy!
