Ingredients
- Corn (kernels)
- Carrots, cut into thin strips
- Cabbage, sliced thin
- Leeks, finely chopped
- Wheat flour (as needed to bind)
- Cooking oil (for frying)
Spices (ground)
- Garlic
- A little coriander
- Candlenuts
- A little turmeric
Additional Seasoning
- Salt
- Chicken stock powder
- Water (as needed)
Directions / Method
- Prepare the vegetables
Cut carrots and cabbage into thin, long strips. Remove kernels from the corn. Chop leeks finely. - Make the fritter batter
In a large bowl, add all the vegetables. Sprinkle in wheat flour gradually (just enough to bind). - Season the mixture
Add the ground spices (garlic, coriander, candlenuts, turmeric), then add salt and chicken stock powder to taste. - Add water
Pour in a little water slowly while mixing until a thick batter forms — not too thin. - Heat the oil
Add enough cooking oil to a deep pan and heat over medium-high heat. - Fry the fritters
Scoop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides. - Drain and serve
Remove fritters from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy!
