Ingredients

  • Corn (kernels)
  • Carrots, cut into thin strips
  • Cabbage, sliced thin
  • Leeks, finely chopped
  • Wheat flour (as needed to bind)
  • Cooking oil (for frying)

Spices (ground)

  • Garlic
  • A little coriander
  • Candlenuts
  • A little turmeric

Additional Seasoning

  • Salt
  • Chicken stock powder
  • Water (as needed)

Directions / Method

  1. Prepare the vegetables
Cut carrots and cabbage into thin, long strips. Remove kernels from the corn. Chop leeks finely.
  2. Make the fritter batter
In a large bowl, add all the vegetables. Sprinkle in wheat flour gradually (just enough to bind).
  3. Season the mixture
Add the ground spices (garlic, coriander, candlenuts, turmeric), then add salt and chicken stock powder to taste.
  4. Add water
Pour in a little water slowly while mixing until a thick batter forms — not too thin.
  5. Heat the oil
Add enough cooking oil to a deep pan and heat over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry the fritters
Scoop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  7. Drain and serve
Remove fritters from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy!
