Christmas Bark (Mediterranean Version)

Description

This Mediterranean-style Christmas Bark is a festive, rich, and elegant holiday treat. Made with silky dark chocolate, crunchy pistachios, chewy dried cranberries, and a hint of sea salt, it’s a perfect combination of sweet, salty, and fruity flavors. Easy to prepare and great for gifting or serving at Christmas gatherings!

Ingredients

12 ounces (340 g) dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa), chopped

½ cup pistachios, shelled and roughly chopped

½ cup dried cranberries

1 teaspoon sea salt (optional)

Instructions / Method of Preparation

  1. Prepare a tray: Line a baking sheet or a flat tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt the chocolate:

Place chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.

Melt using one of two methods:

Double boiler: Set the bowl over a pot of simmering water and stir until smooth.

Microwave: Heat in 20–30 second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted and glossy.

  1. Spread the chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate onto the parchment-lined tray and spread it evenly using a spatula.
  2. Add toppings: Sprinkle the chopped pistachios and dried cranberries evenly over the melted chocolate. If desired, lightly sprinkle sea salt on top for extra flavor.
  3. Set the chocolate: Place the tray in the refrigerator for 30–45 minutes or until the chocolate is fully firm.
  4. Break into pieces: Once hardened, remove from the tray and break into rustic bark pieces by hand.

Serving & Storage

Store the chocolate bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
