Braised MACKEREL FISH | Sinaing na Isda

Ingredients:

  • 1 kilogram mackerel fish or any kind of fish
  • 1 cup ripe tamarind fruit or fresh
  • 1 cup sliced pork fats
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 thumbsize ginger
  • rock salt
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • whole peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 500ml water or more
  • 4 pcs red chilies
  • 3 pcs long green pepper

Methods:
Cut both sides of the fish.
In a pan, add tamarind fruit, pork fats and fish. Then add the other ingredients listed. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Add water if necessary and 1 tsp sugar. Cover and simmer for another 15 minutes.
