Pan-Seared Steak with Caramelized Onions, Veggies & Cheesy Zucchini Bake

A hearty, colorful, and satisfying plate! Tender steak topped with sweet sautéed onions, a medley of soft carrots and zucchini, fresh lettuce, and rich cheesy zucchini slices baked to perfection.

Ingredients
For the Steak & Onions

1 steak (sirloin, flank, or your choice)

1 tbsp olive oil

½ onion, sliced into rings

Salt & pepper, to taste

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp paprika (optional)

1 tsp lemon juice or balsamic vinegar

For the Veggie Mix

1 carrot, diced

½ zucchini, diced

Salt & pepper, to taste

For the Cheesy Zucchini Bake

1 zucchini, sliced into rounds

2–3 tbsp mozzarella or white cheese

1 tbsp tomato sauce (optional)

Pinch of oregano or dried herbs

Fresh Salad

1 cup chopped lettuce

Directions

Cook the steak:
Season steak with oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Heat a pan on medium-high and sear 3–4 minutes per side.
Remove and let it rest.

Caramelize the onions:
In the same pan, cook onion rings until golden and soft.
Add a splash of lemon or balsamic for flavor.
Place on top of the steak.

Cook the veggies:
Steam the chopped carrots and diced zucchini for 5–7 minutes until tender.
Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Bake the cheesy zucchini:
Place zucchini slices on a small baking tray.
Add tomato sauce (optional) and sprinkle with cheese + herbs.
Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 10 minutes or until melted and bubbly.

Prepare the salad:
Add the lettuce to the plate fresh and crisp.

Assemble the plate:
Add steak with onions, steamed veggies, cheesy zucchini, and lettuce.
