Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 tbsp olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade)

1/2 cup water

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

8 small flour tortillas

1/4 cup cream cheese, softened

2 tbsp butter

Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, sour cream, taco sauce

Directions

Cook the Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the onion until soft. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

Season:
Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.

Prepare the Filling:
Turn off the heat and mix in cream cheese until melted. Add cheddar and mozzarella and stir until cheesy and smooth.

Assemble Pockets:
Place a generous spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each tortilla. Fold the sides inward to form a square pocket.

Pan-Fry:
Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each pocket 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

Serve:
Top with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, sour cream, or taco sauce — or enjoy them just as they are!

Tip

For a spicy kick, add chopped jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture before folding.
