Seared Steak Plate with Sautéed Onions, Creamy Corn & Fresh Tomato Salad

This balanced plate brings together seared steak, sweet sautéed onions, creamy herbed corn, and a bright tomato–lettuce salad.

Ingredients
For the Steak

1 thin-cut steak (sirloin, flank, or skirt works well)

1 tbsp olive oil

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp paprika

Salt & pepper to taste

For the Sautéed Onions

½ large onion, thinly sliced

1 tsp olive oil

Pinch of salt

For the Creamy Corn

1 cup corn kernels

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp finely chopped parsley or green onion

Salt & pepper to taste

Optional: 1 tbsp cream or milk for extra softness

For the Tomato Salad

1 cup chopped lettuce

2–3 tomatoes, sliced or quartered

1 tsp olive oil

A squeeze of lemon

Salt & pepper

Directions

Cook the Steak

Season steak with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Heat a skillet with olive oil on high.

Sear steak 2–3 minutes per side (longer if thicker).

Let rest for 3 minutes before serving.

Sauté the Onions

In the same pan, add onions with a splash of oil.

Cook until soft, golden, and fragrant (about 6 minutes).

Prepare the Creamy Corn

Melt butter in a small pan.

Add corn, parsley, salt, and pepper.

Stir 2–3 minutes until warm and silky.

Add optional cream for extra richness.

Assemble the Tomato Salad

Mix lettuce and tomatoes.

Drizzle with olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper.

Serve the Plate

Add steak with sautéed onions, creamy corn, and the fresh salad.
