How to prepare Creamy Cajun Chicken Penne with Bell Peppers

this dish is a rich and spicy creamy Cajun pasta loaded with tender chicken strips, sautéed bell peppers, and perfectly cooked penne—all coated in a velvety, seasoned cream sauce. Comforting, bold, and absolutely irresistible!

Ingredients


For the Chicken

1 lb chicken breast, sliced into strips

1 tbsp olive oil

1–2 tsp Cajun seasoning

Salt & pepper to taste

For the Pasta

8 oz penne pasta

Water + salt for boiling

For the Creamy Cajun Sauce

1 tbsp butter

1 clove garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream (or half & half)

1/2 cup grated parmesan

1 tsp Cajun seasoning

1/4 tsp paprika (optional)

Salt & pepper

Veggies

1/2 red bell pepper, sliced

1/2 yellow bell pepper, sliced

1/2 green bell pepper, sliced

1 tbsp olive oil

👩‍🍳 Directions

  1. Cook the Pasta

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.

Add penne and cook until al dente.

Drain and set aside.

  1. Cook the Chicken

Season chicken with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook chicken 5–6 minutes until golden and done.

Remove and set aside.

  1. Sauté the Peppers

In the same skillet, add a little oil if needed.

Sauté the peppers for 3–4 minutes until soft but vibrant.

Remove and keep aside.

  1. Make the Cream Sauce

Melt butter in the skillet.

Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

Add parmesan, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt & pepper.

Stir until smooth and thick.

  1. Combine

Add cooked pasta, chicken, and peppers back into the sauce.

Toss until everything is creamy and coated.

Serve hot!
