How To Prepare Pizza Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 750 g (5 3/4 cups) all-purpose flour, plus extra for rolling
  • 350 ml (1 1/2 cups) sparkling water
  • 50 g (1.75 oz) fresh yeast
  • 100 ml (7 tbsp) melted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 150 g (1 1/4 cups) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 300 g (2 1/2 cups) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 pack pepperoni slices
  • Pizza sauce

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the yeast and sparkling water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to activate.
  2. Add the salt, sugar, melted butter, and eggs to the yeast mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour until you have a soft, sticky dough.
  4. Cover the dough with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) with the fan on.
  6. Lightly flour your work surface. Knead the dough briefly, then divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
  7. Place 6 dough balls on each of two baking sheets, leaving space between them to allow for rising.
  8. Use your fingers to make small indents in the tops of the rolls.
  9. Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce over each roll.
  10. Top half of the rolls with shredded cheddar and pepperoni. Top the other half with extra mozzarella cheese.
  11. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 18 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  12. Serve warm, or let them cool and freeze for later enjoyment.
