How to prepare SOFT BANANA CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

Moist, fluffy, and rich with banana flavor — finished with a silky cream cheese frosting. Pure comfort!

INGREDIENTS

For the Banana Cake
▪️ 3 ripe bananas, mashed
▪️ ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
▪️ ¾ cup (150 g) sugar
▪️ 2 large eggs
▪️ 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
▪️ 1 ½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
▪️ 1 tsp (4 g) baking soda
▪️ ½ tsp (2 g) cinnamon (optional)
▪️ ¼ tsp (1 g) salt
▪️ ½ cup (120 ml) buttermilk (or milk + 1 tsp lemon juice)

For the Cream Cheese Frosting
▪️ 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
▪️ ¼ cup (56 g) unsalted butter, softened
▪️ 1 ½ cups (180 g) powdered sugar
▪️ 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

1. Prep
▪️ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
▪️ Grease an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) baking pan.

2. Make the Batter
▪️ Cream butter + sugar until light and fluffy.
▪️ Add eggs and vanilla ➡️ mix well.
▪️ Stir in mashed bananas.
▪️ Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
▪️ Pour in buttermilk and mix gently — do not overmix.

3. Bake
▪️ Pour batter into the prepared pan.
▪️ Bake 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
▪️ Let the cake cool completely.

4. Make the Frosting
▪️ Beat cream cheese + butter until smooth.
▪️ Add powdered sugar + vanilla ➡️ beat until creamy and fluffy.

5. Assemble
▪️ Spread the frosting over the cooled cake.
▪️ Slice and enjoy!
