🛒 Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup buttermilk
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
¼ cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 tbsp black cocoa powder
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans, or line with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Mix the Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, beat butter, vegetable oil, and sugar until creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in buttermilk until smooth.
3️⃣ Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, black cocoa powder, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
4️⃣ Make the Batter
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until smooth and well combined.
5️⃣ Bake
Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
