1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or oregano + basil)

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara sauce)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

6 hamburger buns (or toasted sandwich rolls)

10 slices pepperoni (optional but delicious!)

1 tablespoon olive oil or butter for cooking

How to Make Old School Pizza Burgers

  1. Cook the Beef

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Add chopped onion and cook until soft.

Add ground beef and break it apart while cooking.

Season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Continue cooking until the beef is browned and no longer pink.

Drain excess grease if needed.

  1. Add Pizza Flavor

Pour in the pizza sauce and mix well with the beef.

Let it simmer on low heat for 3–4 minutes.

  1. Prepare the Buns

Place hamburger buns on a baking tray cut side up.

Toast lightly in the oven or on a skillet until warm and slightly crisp.

  1. Build the Pizza Burgers

Spoon a generous amount of the beef mixture onto each bun.

Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Add pepperoni slices on top (optional).

  1. Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled buns under the broiler for 3–5 minutes
