Ingredients

For the broth:

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced

2 tbsp chili paste (like sambal oelek or gochujang)

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp miso paste

4 cups (1 L) beef broth

1 cup (250 ml) coconut milk

1 tsp chili flakes (optional for extra heat)

For the beef short rib:

1 large beef short rib (bone-in)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tbsp olive oil

For the ramen bowl:

2 packs of ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)

2 soft-boiled eggs (6–7 minutes cooking time)

Sliced green onions

Fresh jalapeño slices

Chili oil (for drizzling)

Fresh cilantro (optional)

Preparation Steps

Step 1: Prepare the Beef Short Rib

Season the beef rib generously with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.

Heat olive oil in a pan and sear the rib on all sides until browned.

Transfer to a baking dish, cover with foil, and roast in the oven at 325°F (160°C) for 2.5–3 hours, or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.

Step 2: Make the Broth

In a large pot, heat sesame oil and vegetable oil.

Add minced garlic and ginger; sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

Stir in chili paste, soy sauce, and miso paste. Cook for another minute.

Pour in beef broth and coconut milk. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.

Taste and adjust seasoning — add chili flakes for more spice.

Step 3: Cook the Noodles

Boil ramen noodles according to package directions (usually 3–4 minutes).

Drain and set aside.

Step 4: Assemble the Ramen Bowl

Pour hot broth into a deep bowl.

Add the cooked noodles.

Place the roasted beef rib on top.

Garnish with soft-boiled egg halves, jalapeño slices, green onions, cilantro, and drizzle with chili oil.

Serving Suggestion

Serve immediately while hot. For an extra kick, sprinkle more chili flakes or add a spoon of crispy chili oil on top. Pair it with a cup of green tea or a cold drink to balance the spice.
