Who can resist the rich, fudgy goodness of homemade chocolate cake?
If you’re a chocolate lover, this recipe will become your new favorite! It’s soft, moist, and full of chocolate flavor — perfect for any occasion.
What’s your favorite way to enjoy chocolate cake — with coffee, milk, or a scoop of ice cream?
Ingredients:
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
½ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
¾ cup hot water or hot coffee (for extra flavor)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round or square cake pan.
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat the mixture with a whisk or mixer until smooth and well combined.
Slowly pour in the hot water (or coffee) and stir until the batter is smooth and slightly thin — don’t worry, that’s what makes it moist!
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let it cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar or top with your favorite chocolate ganache or frosting.
Serving Tip:
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of melted chocolate for an extra indulgent treat!
