Ingredients:
6 mozzarella sticks (string cheese)
1 egg
2 tsp water
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 ½ cups pork rinds (crushed into fine crumbs)
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Olive oil spray (optional)
Instructions:
Prep the cheese: Cut each mozzarella stick in half crosswise. Set aside.
Make the egg wash: In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg and water.
Prepare coating: Crush pork rinds into fine crumbs (using a blender or rolling pin). Combine crumbs with Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning in another shallow dish.
Coat the sticks: Dip each mozzarella stick into the egg wash, then roll in the crumb mixture. Repeat the process (egg wash + crumbs) for a double coating.
Freeze: Place coated sticks on a dish or tray and freeze for at least 2 hours.
Bake: Preheat oven to 500°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (or grease lightly). Arrange frozen cheese sticks on the pan, spray lightly with olive oil if desired.
Cook: Bake for 6–8 minutes, until coating is golden brown and cheese is soft and melty inside.
Serve: Enjoy immediately with warm marinara sauce or dipping sauce of choice.
Crispy, cheesy, and totally irresistible!
