An easy, crowd-pleasing appetizer — creamy jalapeño poppers wrapped in sausage and bacon!
Ingredients:
6 jalapeños
4 oz cream cheese, softened
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb ground sweet sausage
12 slices bacon
Instructions:
Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
Prepare the jalapeños:
Cut off the tops and remove the seeds and membranes using a small knife or spoon.
Make the filling:
In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Fill the peppers:
Spoon the cheese mixture into each hollowed jalapeño until filled.
Wrap with sausage:
Take about ⅙ of the sausage and mold it evenly around each stuffed jalapeño, covering the pepper completely.
Wrap with bacon:
Wrap two slices of bacon around each sausage-covered jalapeño, securing the ends as needed.
Bake:
Place the wrapped jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the sausage is fully cooked.
Serve:
Let cool slightly, then serve warm. Perfect as a game-day snack or party appetizer!
