Ingredients (makes 3–4 mini bowls) Base Layer:
½ cup low-carb marinara sauce (no added sugar — e.g., Rao’s or homemade)
1 tsp olive oil (optional, for flavor)
Cheese & Toppings:
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup shredded cheddar or provolone (for extra melt)
½ cup cooked Italian sausage or ground beef
¼ cup sliced pepperoni
¼ cup sliced black olives
¼ cup sliced bell peppers (green, red, or yellow)
2 tbsp chopped onions (optional)
½ tsp Italian seasoning
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
Set oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare 3–4 small oven-safe bowls or foil pans (like in your image).
- Layer the Ingredients
Spoon 2 tbsp of marinara sauce into the bottom of each bowl.
Add a thin layer of shredded mozzarella.
Add a few spoonfuls of cooked meat (ground beef or sausage).
Layer on your peppers, olives, and pepperoni.
Repeat layers — sauce, meat, toppings, and more cheese — until bowls are nearly full.
Finish with a generous top layer of cheese and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.
- Bake
Place bowls on a baking tray.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
- Serve
Let cool slightly before serving — cheese will be very hot!
Enjoy straight from the bowl or with a side of fresh salad or cauliflower breadsticks.
