Strawberry Ice Cream Trifle

Ingredients:

1 pound cake or sponge cake, cut into cubes

2 cups vanilla ice cream, slightly softened

2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

1 cup strawberry sauce or strawberry jam (slightly warmed)

1 cup whipped cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Base:
    Cut the pound cake or sponge cake into small cubes and set aside.
  2. Layer the Trifle:
    In a large glass trifle bowl or individual dessert cups, start by adding a layer of cake cubes at the bottom.
  3. Add Ice Cream:
    Spread a layer of softened vanilla ice cream evenly over the cake.
  4. Add Strawberries:
    Top the ice cream with a generous layer of sliced fresh strawberries.
  5. Drizzle Sauce:
    Pour a spoonful of strawberry sauce or warm jam over the strawberries for extra sweetness and color.
  6. Repeat Layers:
    Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the dish, finishing with whipped cream.
  7. Decorate:
    Garnish with extra strawberries and mint leaves for a beautiful finish.
  8. Chill and Serve:
    Freeze for 30–45 minutes before serving, or refrigerate if you prefer a softer texture. Serve chilled and enjoy!
