
Ingredients (Serves 6)
1 lb ground beef (or sausage)
½ cup onion, chopped (optional, for flavor)
1 cup sugar-free pizza sauce (or marinara)
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp garlic powder
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup mini pepperoni (or regular slices)
2 large eggs
½ cup heavy whipping cream
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Meat Base
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, brown ground beef (or sausage) over medium heat.
Add onion, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Drain excess grease.
Stir in the pizza sauce and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Make the Creamy Egg Layer
In a small bowl, whisk together eggs and heavy cream until smooth.
Pour this mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9 baking dish.
Bake for 10 minutes — this forms the “crust” layer.
- Assemble the Casserole
Spread the meat mixture evenly over the baked egg layer.
Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the top.
Add pepperoni slices evenly across the cheese layer.
- Bake
Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown.
Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
