Homemade Garlic Chili Oil

Hot, garlicky, and packed with bold flavor — this chili oil is your new must-have condiment! Perfect for drizzling over noodles, eggs, rice, dumplings, or even pizza. It adds an irresistible heat and aroma that instantly elevates any dish. Once you try it, you’ll want to keep a jar on hand at all times!

Ingredients

1 cup cooking oil (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil work best)

1/4 cup minced garlic

1/4 cup chili flakes (adjust to your heat preference)

Instructions

Heat the oil:
In a small saucepan, pour the cooking oil and heat it over medium-low heat until it’s hot but not smoking.

Add the garlic:
Stir in the minced garlic and cook gently for 2–3 minutes, until it becomes golden and fragrant. Be careful not to burn it, or the oil will turn bitter.

Add the chili flakes:
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the chili flakes. The oil will sizzle and release a delicious smoky aroma.

Cool and store:
Let the mixture cool completely, then transfer it into a clean glass jar. Store it at room temperature or in the fridge.

Enjoy:
Drizzle over noodles, rice, eggs, or anything that needs a flavorful kick!

Serving Tip

For extra depth, add a pinch of salt, sesame seeds, or a splash of soy sauce before serving.
