4 medium green tomatoes, sliced ½-inch thick
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup cornmeal
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika

Preheat
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F / 175°C).
Prepare Ingredients
Set up three bowls:
Bowl 1: flour with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Bowl 2: beaten eggs mixed with buttermilk.
Bowl 3: cornmeal, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Assemble Coating
Dip each tomato slice into flour, then egg mixture, then coat well with the cornmeal-breadcrumb mixture.
Fry
Fry tomato slices in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate.
Garnish and Serve
