
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup Sloppy Joe sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 8 slices sandwich bread
- 8 slices American or cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add onion and garlic; sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in Sloppy Joe sauce, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place four slices butter-side down on a skillet over medium heat.
- Top each with a slice of cheese, a generous spoonful of Sloppy Joe filling, and another slice of cheese.
- Close with remaining bread, butter-side up.
- Grill 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Slice and serve warm.
