Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional: garlic powder or paprika for extra flavor
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly grease a baking dish.
Season the ground beef with salt, pepper, and optional spices.
Create the first layer by spreading half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom of the dish.
Add a layer of ground beef over the potatoes.
Spread half of the cream of mushroom soup evenly on top.
Repeat the layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and soup.
Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45–50 minutes, until the potatoes are tender.
Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
