
Preparation
- Cake Batter
- Place the eggs and granulated sugar in a bowl and whisk until frothy.
- Add the vegetable oil and milk and whisk briefly.
• Sift in the cocoa, vanilla, flour, and baking powder. - Mix with a spatula or mixer on low speed until smooth.
- Prepare the Sauce
- Place all the ingredients for the sauce (cocoa, oil, sugar, milk) in a saucepan.
• Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat without boiling. - Set aside 1 cup of the sauce (to pour over the cake).
- Baking
- Pour the cake batter into a greased baking pan or mold.
• Bake in a preheated 170–180°C oven for about 30–35 minutes. - Test with a toothpick.
- Soaking
- Wait 2–3 minutes after removing the cake from the oven.
• Pour the reserved sauce over the warm cake. - You can add the remaining sauce on top when serving.
Tips
- The cake and sauce will be softer if both are warm.
• For a richer chocolate flavor, add 50–60 g of dark chocolate to the sauce. - Coconut, nuts, or grated chocolate go very well on top.
