Classic Mexican Fresh Salsa (Pico de Gallo)

Classic Mexican Fresh Salsa, also known as Pico de Gallo, is a bright, refreshing, and flavorful condiment made with fresh tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and lime juice. It’s light, zesty, and full of natural flavors, making it perfect as a dip with tortilla chips, a topping for tacos, grilled meats, or even as a fresh side dish. This salsa is quick to prepare and best enjoyed fresh.

Ingredients:
4 medium ripe tomatoes, finely diced
1 small white onion, finely diced
1–2 fresh jalapeño peppers, seeded and minced (adjust to taste)
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
1–2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

Instructions:
Wash all the vegetables thoroughly and pat them dry.

Finely dice the tomatoes and place them in a medium mixing bowl.

Add the finely diced white onion and minced jalapeño peppers to the bowl.
Stir in the chopped fresh cilantro.
Pour in the fresh lime juice and sprinkle with salt.

Gently mix everything together until well combined.
Taste and adjust the salt or lime juice if needed.

Let the salsa rest for 10–15 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to one day for the best fresh flavor.

Serving Tip:
Serve Pico de Gallo with tortilla chips, tacos, burritos, grilled chicken, fish, or as a fresh topping for your favorite Mexican dishes.
