2–3 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Red and blue food coloring
For Decoration:

Black fondant or chocolate for the horse design
Edible gold stars or sprinkles (optional)
Method of Preparation
Prepare the Cake Batter:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and line two round cake pans. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla. Gradually add the dry ingredients alternately with milk, mixing until smooth.
Bake the Cake:
Divide the batter evenly between the pans. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool completely before frosting.
Make the Buttercream:
Beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, then vanilla and cream. Beat until smooth and fluffy. Divide the frosting into three bowls: leave one white, color one red, and one blue.
Assemble the Cake:
Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of frosting. Top with the second cake layer and cover the entire cake with a smooth white buttercream base.
Decorate:
Use red and blue buttercream to create patriotic designs. Shape the horse silhouette using black fondant or chocolate and place it on top or on the side of the cake. Add stars or festive details to complete the New Year theme.
Serve:
Chill the cake slightly before serving. Slice and enjoy this bold and celebratory cake as you welcome 2026 with joy and pride.
Happy New Year 2026!
