Ingredients
6 burger buns, cut in half
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara sauce)
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup sliced pepperoni (optional)
½ cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
½ cup sliced black olives or bell peppers (optional)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish (optional)
Preparation Method
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cook the beef:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
Prepare the buns:
Place the burger bun halves cut-side up on the baking sheet. Lightly toast them in the oven for 5 minutes until slightly crisp.
Assemble the pizza burgers:
Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on each bun half. Add a layer of cooked beef, then top with mozzarella cheese and your favorite pizza toppings.
Bake:
Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired, and serve hot.
Serving Tip
Serve Pizza Burgers with fries, potato wedges, or a fresh green salad for a complete and delicious meal.
