Salt and freshly ground black pepper

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp butter

2 garlic cloves, smashed

1 sprig fresh rosemary or thyme

For the Garlic Shrimp

12–16 large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

Paprika or chili flakes (optional)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Sides (Optional but Recommended)

Creamy mashed potatoes

Steamed broccoli or green beans

Crispy fried potato bites or croquettes

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Steak

Remove the steaks from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels.

Generously season both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

2️⃣ Sear the Steak

Heat a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.

Add olive oil and let it heat until shimmering.

Place the steaks in the pan and sear for 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare), adjusting time for your preferred doneness.

Add butter, smashed garlic, and rosemary or thyme to the pan.

Spoon the melted butter over the steaks continuously for extra flavor.

Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.

3️⃣ Cook the Garlic Shrimp

In the same pan (or a clean skillet), heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.

Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.

Add the shrimp in a single layer and season with salt, pepper, and paprika or chili flakes if using.

Cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

Remove from heat immediately to avoid overcooking.

4️⃣ Prepare the Sides

Serve with creamy mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or crispy potatoes of your choice.

Keep sides warm while plating.

Serving & Presentation Tips

Slice the steak against the grain for maximum tenderness.

Arrange steak and shrimp side by side on a warm plate.

Spoon a little garlic butter from the pan over both the steak and shrimp.

Garnish with fresh herbs or a lemon wedge for brightness.
