Crab Stuffed Cheddar Bay Biscuits with Lemon Butter

These crab stuffed Cheddar Bay biscuits are soft, buttery, and filled with a rich, savory crab mixture. Inspired by the famous Cheddar Bay biscuits, each biscuit is baked until golden, then brushed with fragrant lemon butter for a bright, irresistible finish. They are perfect as an appetizer, party snack, or a special side dish for seafood meals.

Ingredients

For the Biscuits

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

1 tsp sugar

½ tsp salt

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp paprika

½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

¾ cup milk

For the Crab Filling

1 cup crab meat (lump or claw, picked clean)

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 tbsp mayonnaise

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Lemon Butter

¼ cup melted butter

1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1 tsp lemon zest

½ tsp garlic powder

1 tbsp chopped parsley

Preparation Method

Prepare the Crab Filling
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper until smooth. Gently fold in the crab meat. Set aside.

Make the Biscuit Dough
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and paprika. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, then add the milk and mix just until a soft dough forms.

Assemble the Biscuits
Scoop a small portion of dough, flatten it slightly, and place a spoonful of crab filling in the center. Top with another small piece of dough and gently seal the edges. Place on the prepared baking tray.

Bake
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the biscuits are puffed and golden brown.

Prepare the Lemon Butter
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic powder, and parsley.

Finish and Serve
Brush the warm biscuits generously with lemon butter. Serve hot and

enjoy.
