Ingredients:
1 jar dill pickles, sliced into chips (or use pre-cut pickle chips)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried dill (optional)
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk)
Oil for frying
Ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce
Instructions:
- Prepare the Pickles
Drain the pickle chips well and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
This step helps the coating stick and keeps them extra crispy.
- Prepare the Dry Coating
In a bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, dried dill, black pepper, and salt.
- Dip & Coat
Pour the buttermilk into a separate bowl.
Dip each pickle chip into the buttermilk, letting excess drip off.
Then coat each pickle in the seasoned flour mixture until fully covered.
- Heat the Oil
Pour oil into a deep pan or pot to about 2–3 inches deep.
Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the coated pickle chips into the hot oil in small batches.
Fry for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
Remove and drain on a paper towel–lined plate.
- Serve
Serve warm with ranch, spicy mayo, or garlic sauce.
