Ingredients
1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter
1 ½ cups (300 g) sugar
1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (120 g) cocoa powder
4 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp salt
1 ½ cups (250 g) chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (for coating)
1 tbsp vegetable oil (for a shiny coating)
Instructions
- Make the Brownies
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a microwave or saucepan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Add the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir gently until fully combined and a thick batter forms.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 22–28 minutes, or until the center is set but still fudgy.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely, then lift them from the pan using the parchment paper.
- Cut into Bars
- Once cooled, cut the brownie slab into bars or squares (your preferred size).
- Coat with Chocolate
- Melt the chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon of oil in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Dip each brownie bar into the melted chocolate, covering it fully or partially.
- Place the coated bars on a parchment-lined tray.
- Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes until the chocolate sets.
