Ingredients

For the Cake:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup hot water (or hot coffee for richer flavor)

For the Chocolate Ganache:

200g semisweet chocolate (chopped)

1 cup heavy cream

1 tbsp butter (for extra shine)

Instructions

Step 1 – Prepare the Cake Batter

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a round baking pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add milk, oil, egg, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
