Total Time: 2 hours 20 minutes
Servings: 6-8 people
Ingredients:
1 frozen pie crust
1 ¼ cups sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 ¼ cups water
3 tablespoons strawberry jelly
Instructions:
Prepare the Pie Crust:
Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the frozen pie crust packaging.
Bake the pie crust according to the directions, typically for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown. Set aside to cool completely.
Make the Strawberry Filling:
In a saucepan, combine the sugar and cornstarch. Gradually add the water while stirring until the mixture is smooth.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens (about 2-3 minutes).
Once thickened, remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the strawberry jelly until it’s fully melted and combined.
Assemble the Pie:
Wash and hull fresh strawberries, then slice them into halves or quarters depending on your preference.
Arrange the sliced strawberries in the cooled pie crust.
Add the Glaze:
Pour the strawberry jelly mixture evenly over the arranged strawberries. Use a spoon to gently spread it to cover all the berries.
Chill:
Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to allow the filling to set properly.
Serve:
Once chilled, slice and serve! Optional: Top with whipped cream or a dollop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
