Cajun Salmon & Shrimp Dirty Rice Bowl

A bold, flavor-packed Southern-inspired dish featuring blackened salmon, juicy shrimp, and spicy dirty rice loaded with peppers, onions, and Cajun seasoning. It’s savory, smoky, and full of buttery goodness—just like the delicious bowl in your photo!

For the Cajun Salmon

1 salmon fillet

1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

1 tsp Cajun seasoning

½ tsp paprika

Salt & black pepper (to taste)

For the Cajun Shrimp

8–10 medium shrimp, peeled & deveined

½ tsp Cajun seasoning

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tbsp olive oil

For the Dirty Rice

1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)

½ cup bell peppers (green & red), diced

½ small onion, diced

1 garlic clove, minced

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp soy sauce or Worcestershire

1 tsp Cajun seasoning

Optional: green onions for topping

𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

  1. Cook the Salmon

Rub salmon with oil, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Sear in a hot skillet, 4–5 minutes per side, until blackened and flaky.

  1. Cook the Shrimp

Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning and garlic powder.

In the same skillet, cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and lightly charred. Remove and set aside.

  1. Prepare the Dirty Rice

Add butter to the skillet.

Sauté onions, bell peppers, and garlic until soft and browned.

Add cooked rice, Cajun seasoning, and soy sauce/Worcestershire.

Toss everything together until the rice is well-coated and flavorful.

Fold the shrimp back into the rice (or leave them on top).

  1. Serve

Scoop the dirty rice into a bowl or plate, place the blackened salmon on top, and drizzle any leftover skillet butter over the dish.
