Cajun Shrimp & Sausage Skillet with Peppers & Onions

A sizzling one-pan meal packed with juicy shrimp, smoky sausage, tender onions, and sautéed peppers all coated in rich Cajun spices. Big flavor, simple prep, and incredibly satisfying!

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:

250g shrimp, peeled & deveined

150g smoked sausage, sliced (andouille preferred)

1 large onion, chopped

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1–2 celery stalks, sliced

2 tbsp olive oil or butter

1 tbsp Cajun seasoning

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp smoked paprika (optional for extra color)

Salt & black pepper to taste

Squeeze of lemon (optional)

𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:

Cook the Sausage

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add sliced sausage and cook until browned and slightly crisp on the edges.

Remove and set aside.

Sauté the Veggies

Add another splash of oil if needed.

Add onion, peppers, and celery.

Season with half the Cajun seasoning and cook 5–7 minutes until softened and fragrant.

Cook the Shrimp

Push veggies to the sides and add shrimp to the center of the pan.

Season with remaining Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt & pepper.

Cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

Combine & Serve

Add sausage back to the skillet and toss everything together.

Finish with a squeeze of lemon for brightness if desired.

Serve hot as is, or over rice or mashed potatoes!
