Warm Butter Lobster Rolls — Connecticut Style

Soft, golden buns filled with juicy lobster tossed in warm melted butter… this is the true taste of New England! Simple, rich and unforgettable. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or a luxurious treat any time of day.

Ingredients

For 2 lobster rolls:

1 lb (450 g) cooked lobster meat (claw and tail pieces preferred)

4 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp lemon zest (optional)

1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)

Pinch of sea salt

Pinch of black pepper

2 New England–style hot dog buns (or brioche buns, split on the sides)

1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped (for garnish)

Preparation Method

Warm the lobster:
Chop the cooked lobster into bite-sized pieces and set aside.

Make the butter sauce:
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add lemon juice, garlic powder (optional), salt and black pepper. Stir gently and do not let it boil.

Add lobster to the butter:
Place the lobster meat into the warm butter and stir for 2–3 minutes until fully coated and heated through. Turn off the heat.

Toast the buns:
Lightly butter the outside of the buns and toast in a pan or on a skillet until golden brown on both sides.

Assemble:
Fill each bun generously with warm buttery lobster. Spoon extra melted butter from the pan on top.

Finish and serve:
Sprinkle chives and a touch of lemon zest if desired. Serve immediately while hot and buttery.
