
Ingredients:
For the Main Dish:
1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey, pork, or sausage)
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
3 cups chopped green cabbage (about ½ medium head)
1 small onion, diced (optional, adds flavor)
1 small bell pepper, chopped (any color)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (no sugar added)
2 tbsp tomato paste
½ cup beef broth
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp dried oregano
½ tsp dried basil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Brown the Meat:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add Vegetables:
Stir in onions, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté 3–4 minutes until softened.
Add Cabbage & Sauce Ingredients:
Add chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, and all seasonings.
Stir well to combine.
Simmer:
Cover and reduce heat to medium-low.
Let cook for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender and sauce has thickened.
Finish & Serve:
Taste and adjust seasoning — add more salt, pepper, or paprika if desired.
Serve hot as is, or top with shredded cheese for extra richness.
